Where things actually stand today — not a final policy, just the truth about where we are in early beta.

Roots & Recipes is in early beta. Here's exactly where things stand:

  • If you create an account, we store your name, email, and the recipes, photos and recordings you save. Accounts and data are stored with Supabase, our database provider. Your password is handled by Supabase and stored securely scrambled — no one on our team can see it.
  • We record how visitors use the site and app, such as pages opened and recipes saved, to improve it. We never record what you type, your recipes, photos or recordings.
  • Only you can see your recipes when logged in. Our small team can see what customers submit so we can help with support and improve Roots & Recipes. We don't sell or share your data.
  • You can edit or delete any recipe at any time from My Cookbook. Deleting a recipe also deletes its photo or recording.
  • If you add a recipe from a photo, we save the photo to your account. To read it, the photo is sent to an AI model run by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, only to type out the recipe. We don't sell or share your photos.
  • If you record a recipe, we save the recording to your account. To write it up, the recording is sent to AI models run by Cloudflare (speech-to-text, then recipe formatting). We only record while you're pressing Record, and we don't sell or share your recordings.
  • We'll publish a full privacy policy before our public launch.

See our Pricing FAQ for more on what happens to a saved recipe and how data export/deletion will work.
